Dear Ones,
Normally, I use this space to share insights and catch you up on happenings in my life and our community. Today, I am breaking form to tell you about an upcoming event I don't want you to miss.
"Tantra is an Asian body of beliefs and practices which, working from the principle that the universe we experience is nothing other than the concrete manifestation of the divine energy of the Godhead that creates and maintains that universe, seeks to ritually appropriate and channel that energy, within the human microcosm, in creative and emancipatory ways."
Often, when the word "Tantra" comes up in conversation, it is followed by a conversation about sex. Most of us experience great curiosity about sacred sexuality and the access to Divinity it might provide. For me, sexuality has always been a very private thing and one I do not freely discuss. There are many reasons for my silence. One reason is that I consider the sacredness of this intimate sharing to be "beyond words." It is not so for everyone. In the world, there are Masters who speak about subjects such as Tantra in a universal way - taking the physical considerations deep into the spiritual realm. Jeffrey Armstrong is such a Master.
I am very excited and honored that CEC will be hosting Jeffrey Armstrong's visit to Colorado Springs in mid - August. Sponsor, Meryl Runion, (who is an amazing, vibrant, creative spirit) describes Jeffrey as " A Western Master of Eastern Wisdom." In sharing about his work, one of her examples was that "Soul Mate," according to Jeffrey, is something you do, not something you find. That concept feels right to me. She went on to describe how her relationship with her husband has been blessed by what Jeffrey teaches about love, the Divine Feminine, and the true nature of relationship - with each other and with the Universe.
The more I have learned about Jeffrey and been exposed to his work, the more excited I am about inviting you to share in this experience. This is about much more than sexuality folks - its about something much, much deeper. And, having Jeffrey (who travels extensively and resides in Canada) right here, in our own proverbial back yard, is a rare opportunity that does not come often.
While the perception might be that this is an offering for couples - it is just as valuable and possibly even more valuable - for singles. If you know what you are looking for in a relationship, you are certainly more likely to find it! Whether alone or with the love of your life - I hope you will consider attending.
There are several opportunities to experience Jeffrey's wisdom. If you feel called to learn more, details are below.
On this warm summer day, may you be blessed with a cool breeze - and the joy of a good friend to share it with!

Sacred Seasons Retreat
All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church Saturday, August 23rd 10am - 3pm $20 Love Offering
In all traditions, there is a story about the cycle of birth, growth, death, and renewal. This story is reflected in the changing of the seasons and the rolling of the days from one dawn until the next. This story knows no social or cultural boundaries and it crosses religious and political lines without exception.
The ever changing cycle of natural renewal is reflected in the seasonal changes of nature moving from spring to summer, summer to fall, fall to winter, and winter spiraling into forward into spring. At Sacred Seasons Retreat, we celebrate our interconnectedness to this spiraling cycle, so profound - and so reliable.
This "Wheel of the Year," and the mythological symbolism associated with it, is only one of many such circles of life used by people of various faith traditions and cultures. Each circle is interpreted differently, according to the stories and celebrations of any particular path - yet every circle reminds us that we are one with nature and, as such, Her rhythms and cycles affect and direct our lives.
The summer is nearly over and soon fall will bring cooling winds to whisper the wisdom of release. Are you ready to let go of what no longer serves you? Come and join in the preparation for Autumn's great release.
This event includes interactive conversation, time outdoors, and the making of a sacred tool. We will break for lunch. Feel free to bring food and beverage with you, as well as something to write in and something to write with.

Wise Words
Every walk to the woods is a religious rite, every bath in the stream is a saving ordinance. Communion service is at all hours, and the bread and wine are from the heart and marrow of Mother Earth.
